Exporting your AngelList investment portfolio

If you've made angel investments through AngelList, you might want a clearer, more detailed view of your portfolio than their dashboard provides. Signed lets you import your AngelList holdings and start tracking performance, history, and analytics all in one place.

Step 1: Export Your AngelList Portfolio

First, log in to your AngelList account. Head to the Portfolio page. Scroll down until you see your table of holdings. There, you’ll find an Export CSV button—usually right in the middle of the page. Click this button to download a CSV file containing your current AngelList investments.

Step 2: Upload to Signed

Once you’ve grabbed your AngelList CSV, you can upload it on our Import page. Click to select, or drag and drop to upload your CSV.

We'll churn through your CSV and take a look if we can match them to existing companies in your portfolio. Before dropping all your AngelList investments into your Signed investments, we'll give you a confirmation step to make sure everything looks good, or to massage the data a bit better to match up with your portfolio.

There's also a rollback, too- so if you do import and it suddenly looks super odd everywhere... head back to the Import page and click the Revert Import button to roll it back. The goal is to be able to add new data as you go, but still be able to bail out so you don't muck up any data.

Keep on importing

The importer itself is idempotent, meaning you can keep uploading your portfolio from AngelList whenever you'd like and we'll make sure to only update what's changed.

This is actually pretty helpful: valuation changes in AngelList are pretty hidden and mysterious, so by bringing your CSV into Signed on a semi-regular basis, you can check the Timeline to get an explicit breakdown of which investments got marked up, which got marked down, and which exited.

Many investors have a regular "monthly update" kind of routine to handle these manual steps: maybe once a month they'll do the manual export from AngelList or other third-party services, dump them into Signed, and get a freshly up-to-date portfolio thereafter. It's a nice time to take stock of all your investments and future plans, too!
