What i'm looking for as an investor. Ideas matter: I'm looking for a founder with a great idea. Ideally, an idea that's such a good idea on its own that it's something I would quit my job to go build myself if I had the skills, talent, merit, and luck to win. A lot goes into an idea being great. Market, timing, vision, taste, technological viability and talent all have to be there. I have to feel the founder <-> idea fit. Founder Formidability and Compatibility: I look for founders who are so formidable and have such a divine right to win that I'd be terrified of the idea of competing with them in their chosen specific domain. They also have to be someone I can trust, learn from, be inspired by, and love talking to / spending time with generally. yes it's a vibe check, but i'm a vibe lord. i have a knack for sensing these things.
